4750 miles later, and a week ahead of schedule, I'm home. Ray (

profkampf) is on his way back to LA now, after we called ahead and had

qbear make us a mess of hot dogs to celebrate the end of our cross-country car trip.

Since Ray had to get back to LA to attend to job and other business, we abandoned the northernmost leg of our route, including Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle. Our apologies to all the friends we didn't get to see this time, especially our prospective hosts

ponycub in Seattle, and Bela and Gordon in Vancouver.

Wild animals seen on this trip:

American bison ( and eaten, too)
Deer
Elk
Bunnies
Squirrels
Chipmunks
Pronghorn antelope
Prairie dogs

And this is where I now stand, so far as states visited. Added the Dakotas, Minn. and Wash. this trip. Only Hawaii to go.
