No apologies

Yeah, I know people think Jack and I are pretty good in the kitchen. We've both worked as short order cooks, we wrote that little cookbook a few years ago, and we've had any number of you over for brunch, dinner, homemade pizza, lasagna, braciole, full Thanksgiving dinners, whatever.

But sometimes, at the start of the cold, wet season, all we really want is a big pot of beanie-wienie. Which is what we had tonight.

Sounds delish! I love comfort food!

Do you make a homemade version or just straight from the can?

Word.

I know people who are food snobs and won't eat anything but certain types of "uppity" foods, but what you suggested? It sounds yummy.

I am a fan of calico beans myself. It's hearty, warm, and sticks to the bones.

For a twist on beanie weenies? Try adding some beef, cooked bacon, and a little brown sugar with the beans and weenies and you have Cowboy Casserole. Bake up some cornbread and you really have a feast!

YUMMMMMMMMYYYY

I do the beans and weinies (specially prepared Boston Baked Beans and Kosher weiners), but they would not be complete without the Dark Bread from the Can (B&M Brown Bread with Raisins) which I have to buy specially online since there are no stores I can find in SF that carry it. Fresh butter with the bread and beanie weenies...yummers!
