Yes! Mom and I crushed qbear and Aunt Doris in Hand and Foot Canasta tonight, 7320 to 5375. Exchanging chairs appears to have done the trick!

I'm glad that people enjoy seem to enjoy the morning conversations Jack and I have in the car, but I don't transcribe them all ... this morning, for instance, we were talking so much about how the human body could be improved (ears inside your mouth so you could hear yourself eating, nose on top of your head so you could snorkel, etc.) that I couldn't remember half of what we said. I do recall Jack saying that if we had chameleon skin I'd find it easier to shirk my chores, because I'd blend in with the background, so he'd have to startle me so I'd "flash" like an octopus, but then I'd squirt ink all around, and that'd be another dang thing for him to clean up.

I haven't played Canasta since I lived in Montana. :) Is there a difference from Canasta and Hand and Foot Canasta ( I almost said Hoof and Mouth! LOL)?

In hand and foot, you're dealt two hands, and you have to finish your first hand (your "hand") before you can pick up your second hand (your "foot"). The strategy is to try to go out before your opponents have picked up their "foot" hands and disposed of any nasty red threes, which are -500 points apiece.

This is the FIRST time Ive seen anyone reference Hand and Foot...Joels parents are nuts for the game and its an annual bloodmatch. The winner gets the embroidered quilt and bragging rights for the year.

Based on this past years performance...we may need a team to help practice...
