I've been remiss in offering congratulations to the couples here ...

[livejournal.com profile] danlmarmot and [livejournal.com profile] cpratt
[livejournal.com profile] whiskerfish and [livejournal.com profile] f8n_begorra
[livejournal.com profile] xianjessen and [livejournal.com profile] bearadjacent
[livejournal.com profile] tmaher and [livejournal.com profile] urso
[livejournal.com profile] notdefined and [livejournal.com profile] mh58
[livejournal.com profile] djmrswhite and [livejournal.com profile] moroccomole

... and whoever else on my LJ friends list who has been married recently.

[livejournal.com profile] qbear and I will be tying the knot again in a small civil ceremony at San Francisco City Hall on Sept. 17. If you're thinking of a wedding gift, just remember that we don't need any more junk in the house, so instead make a donation to the No on 8 campaign to preserve the right for same-sex couples to marry in the state of California. (We have to do something to counter all the money being spent in the state by organizations opposed to civil rights, like the Mormons and the Knights of Columbus.)

It's gotta be very surreal knowing all these people (like we all do) and now knowing that there is some legality to them. It doesn't change who they are to us, but the sense of illegitimacy makes me smile.

Congrats to you that are fortunate enough to have it on paper! (not here in the islands, that's for sure)

Congratulations to you and Jack! I know of two other couples that have asked that folks give to No on 8 in lieu of gifts. I applaud it! I know we are expected to stimulate the state economy with our wedding registries, but my kitchen is bursting as it it.

Please post pictures, and if you haven't scouted out a location I heartily recommend going up to the fourth floor balcony. It is much brighter and quieter up there and has great views of the rotunda and the staircase.
