Relatively busy weekend. Lost power on Friday evening, so we went to bed early. Put up and decorated our tree on Saturday, before [livejournal.com profile] bowlerbehrsf's's party, where we ate crab dip, tollhouse pie, and other luscious goodies. A sprinkling of LJers were there. Sunday, we saw a matinee of Return of the King, and [livejournal.com profile] qbear was bawling at the end, and I was tearing up too. Afterwards we stopped by the Lone Star, but we felt invisible and hardly knew anyone, so we came home and had fried chicken.

Last night I dreamed that I was in college, taking a multiple choice exam on a new kind of paper that had been developed to respond directly to brain waves. Think hard at the circle by your choice of answer, and it would fill itself in. I discovered that after taking a few of these tests, my own innate telekinetic power was awakened, and I was able to move and manipulate tiny items with my mind -- salt, pepper grains, dust, a piece of fuzz, hair in the sink, a single grain of rice. (You would think this would be a very weak ability, but I knew that I had the power of life or death over anyone who threatened me -- I could burst tiny blood vessels in their brain, causing an instant aneurysm.)

Tollhouse pie? Mmmmm...sounds scrumptuous. (BTW, we got your card today just in case you're keeping track of mail times. Thanks!)

There's also the power of Samantha and Endora that I want sometimes - or hell, even Dr. Bombay - to eradicate colds, change clothes in a nanosecond, snap my fingers and have the house spotless and be able to cast spells on those idiots in the Shrub Administration to stop destroying our country.

But for right now I'll have to settle for being just Aunt Clara - I've lost my powers, keep bumping into walls and forget most of my spells.

Aunt Clara isn't such a bad person to be -- she's sweet and lovable. And she had such a doorknob collection!
