rootbeer1: (Nocturne)

On a clear day ...

Just took a trip up to Mt. Tamalpais, in Marin, with [livejournal.com profile] profkampf and [livejournal.com profile] qbear. It was a lovely late afternoon, the sun shining on the ocean and the bay, with San Francisco, Alcatraz, Sausalito and both major bridges visible in the distance. We agreed that Jim would enjoy this beautiful view as well.

A view for Jim.

I forgot to add that we were listening to the Jim memorial CD on the way up ... and it was chillingly resonant. When we were looking for the right parking lot, close to the summit, we were hearing U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." We found the place to park just as "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" started.

Do you know the track names for the CD? Some of the music I have no idea what it is...

Tell me what track numbers, and I'll get you the names.

I also heard somewhere that "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" was inspired by a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge.

..and Google (http://www.events-in-music.com/who-wrote-the-music-to-the-peanuts-charlie-brown-christmas-specials.html) says so!

I think the mountain might have blocked the view of that bridge.
