Went to pick up my textbooks for the coming semester, $247 worth. Good news: the MySQL textbook is one that I read on vacation last year, so that class shouldn't be very difficult.

The complete rundown:

Interactive Web Pages with JavaScript. Online course, and the instructor, who I had for intermediate HTML, is very approachable (via e-mail) and gives lots of examples. I expect to get a lot out of this one.

PHP Programming. The only full-semester on-campus class I'm taking, on PHP scripting for the web. The reqiuired textbook looks easy but the optional one looks very formidable.

MySQL Databases. Also an online class, and should be a piece of cake. There was an on-campus class available, but I've had the instructor last semester, and he's the rambling, poorly-focused professor I've mentioned before. ("True or false: 2 + 2 sometimes equals 4")

Oracle PL/SQL Programming. According to [livejournal.com profile] qbear, there's not a lot to know about PL/SQL, so I expect I'll know it backwards and forwards by the time I'm done. An online class taught by my Oracle/XML instructor from last semester, so I expect lots of homework.

Apache Web Server Intro/ Apache Web Server Advanced. The other classes are easily quantifiable – two web-based classes, two SQL classes – but this one has me puzzled. I'll have to break out my old networking textbook and read it before these two sequential classes start, in mid-March. Oddly, they are online classes augmented with several full-Sunday on-campus meetings.

I bought six books, so that's an average price of around $41. Three of them were O'Reilly books, too, so they're more like technical manuals, not textbooks.
