qbear just took me to the Slanted Door for a birthday lunch. We had imperial rolls, chicken in caramel sauce, Vietnamese eggplant and vanilla crème brulee, in a beautiful site overlooking the bay, the sky dotted with fluffy clouds.

I can see why the Slanted Door is rated one of the top Vietnamese restaurants in America, and why President Clinton used to eat there when he was in town. Easily the best meal I’ve had in a restaurant this year. I’m going to be smiling all afternoon.

qbear is just the best husband ever.
