qbear was on a roll this morning, talking about leftover chicken and how it gets made into chicken salad and chicken soup, but no one ever makes leftover roast beef into roast beef salad or roast beef soup; and about how the newspaper says that Hercules ( a town in the East Bay) is blocking a Wal-mart (“the demi-god came down off Mount Olympus to battle a chain store!”); and about the changing dynamics of triple relationships (“time was, you’d have your main course at home, and a little piece of chicken on the side”); and about how someone we know has taken up with some young hoochie, after which Jack sang “Gold-DIGGAH” on the subway platform like Shirley Bassey singing “Goldfinger.” It was all very amusing and it made me think that I’ll probably have to start carrying a tape recorder for these early morning conversations.

East coasterspagerbear and perlcub will be in San Francisco this weekend. Anyone interested in an LJ dinner on Saturday? I’m thinking, 7 p.m., someplace in the Castro, location to be decided by the number of people responding.
