It's the teeny-tiny ones that don't look right to me. If it's so small that you can't even tell it's a jewel or a bit of metal, then it comes across as a zit or a crusty bit of skin. Makes you want the owners to go wash their faces.

But that's just me. I want everyone to go wash their faces.
